It had been created the fundamental punk rock music as one of the main streams of British music. From late 70's though 80's, it became more segmented by sound, the band costumes and their thinking way of life styles.
In this genre, there were born two new main streams.
One is New Romantic and the other is Goth.
New romanticism began 1979 as a one of image-conscious rock band style and it spread out in London night clubs like Billy's by David bowie and The Blitz by Steve Strange. Adam and the Ants became the most popular band in 1980 - 81 and the moment was the heyday for new romanticism. This prominent pirates style was introduced by Vivienne Westwood.
Goth is slightly later than new romanticism and it is obviously influenced by them. They are basically in black Victorian style dress and pale skin. The music scene is originally punk rock but it became wider from classical music to death rock.
